Time in Batam (Western Indonesia time) is one hour behind Singapore so travellers arrive at the same time they departed in Singapore. Return trips to Singapore from Batam can be booked either when buying the ticket or in Batam. Passengers are strongly advised to make the return booking early especially at public holiday periods when the ferry traffic is very busy. It is not uncommon at these periods for people to be unable to return home because they didn't book in advance. The clocks above show the difference, Batam time is the same as Tanjung Pinang.
The first ferry departs at 06:00 and the last 22:00 from both Batam and Singapore but it is dependant on the service and ferry terminal - See the attached schedules for more information.
